The Thrill of the Bungee Jump

This is an absolutely excellent post done  From Ray Comforts blog

It hit a real nerve with me  !!! I do hope it does for our dear readers here too – God bless.

Read the Bible in a year: Genesis 25-26, Psalm 31, Matthew 16

I watched a video clip of a bungee jumper recently, whose cord looped around his neck. He was more than likely already dead when his friends were calling for him to take the noose off his neck and to lift his knees. This came hard on the heels of a shallow-thinking woman who jumped off a bridge in South Africa. Continue reading

Altar Calls: Why you should refuse to “walk the aisle” (Part 1 of 3)

Grant Swart

In all likelihood, Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875) can be attributed with being the “father” of the altar call. Years before our Lord effectually called me to repentance and salvation, I was once also duped into responding to an altar call which promised elaborate, but false, assurances of salvation. Wonderfully though, the Lord placed severe doubts in my mind at the time, regarding the possible validity of the ritual. What I regarded, back then as being my reliance on simple common sense, led me to distrust the embarrassing proceedings of the altar call I had responded to.

Needless to say, not much changed in my life as a result, in the days, weeks and months subsequent to that day. Great was and is the Grace of our Lord and true Saviour. I also now know that it was not only common sense which led me to doubt the honesty and biblical integrity of the altar call. I never responded to a single one again, praise be to the Lord. Bells Hell Sells

Grant Swart

In keeping with our intended purpose, and as mentioned on our About page, we attempt to maintain a positive slant to the content of 4TheLoveOfTheTruth. There are certainly sufficient blogs which effectively highlight the negative deception and falsehood in the what the world sees as the Christian church.

In certain instances I feel it is warranted that attention be given to events which could have a “worse than usual” negative impact on the Christian. The recent book by Rob Bell is one of those instances. Another recent posting on this blog, in which John MacArthur addresses this issue, ties in with this short but thought-provokingly powerful piece by Ray Comfort.

The Bible

D.L. Moody :

People say this Bible was good enough for ancient days, but we have men of culture, of science, of literature now, and its value has decreased to the people of our day. Now, give me a better book, and I will throw it away. Has the world ever offered us a better book? These men want us to give up the Bible. What are you going to give us in its place? O, how cruel infidelity is to tell us to give up all the hope we have, to throw away the only book which tells the story of the resurrection. They try to tell us that it is all a fiction, so that

Atheist: How to become one

Grant Swart

To the true believer, it is a preposterous suggestion. “How to become an atheist”. However, out in the big wide world, unsurprisingly this will not seem such a ridiculously useless instruction.

Ray Comfort has been taking the Gospel to unbelievers (and sharing it with believers) in a variety of effective ways for a long time. It is rarely a quiet affair, certainly never boring, but then neither is the subject of his ministry boring, which is the Gospel of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. Since the internet has become a ‘place’ which is frequented regularly by people in search of information regarding almost all things pertaining to our lives, it has provided an additional platform for Ray’s work in proclaiming the Truth of the Word to unbelievers and in particular those of atheist persuasion.

Atheists employ information technology and social media on the extreme scale in their unending and frantic quest to find any trace of truth which could substantiate the fallacy of the athiest concepts. The virtual world and it’s faceless, Continue reading

Breaking Atheism’s Sunday Boredom

Ray Comfort

“Then the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things. And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’ When the men had come to Him, they said, ‘John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflicti ons, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight. Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me” (Luke 7:18-23).
