Usurping Women have been the originators of many false Charismatic movements !

One of the trademarks of Pentecostalism is that women usurp their God ordained place of submission in the church! Pentecostalism: The only religion often founded by women who usurp their place! Dominated by emotionalism!

Teaching or exercising authority over a man in the church. This includes pulpit preaching and administration.

1 Tim 2:12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13 For it was Adam who was first created, andthen Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression. 15 But women shall be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

Being a pastor/elder/overseer. 1 Tim 3 and Titus 1 explicitly identify that pastors MUST BE MEN.

1 Timothy 3:1 It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do. 2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, uncontentious, free from the love of money. 4 He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity 5 (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 and not a new convert, lest he become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil. 7 And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he may not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Notice that the prohibition against women teaching or exercising authority over men in the church is IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE CLEAR STATEMENT THAT ONLY MEN CAN BE OVERSEERS/PASTORS! One continuous text!

Miram ~ 1500 BC

Notice that Miram usurped her place by claiming to be equal with Moses! Yes Aaron was also involved, but he was following the lead of Miram who was made a leper. Aaron was not made a leper, proving she was the instigator! (Aaron was easily swayed by the people when the people made the golden calf, “the people made me do it”)

Numbers 12:1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (for he had married a Cushite woman); 2 and they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us as well?” And the Lord heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than any man who was on the face of the earth.) 4 And suddenly the Lord said to Moses and Aaron and to Miriam, “You three come out to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them came out. 5 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud and stood at the doorway of the tent, and He called Aaron and Miriam. When they had both come forward, 6 He said,

“Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, shall make Myself known to him in a vision. I shall speak with him in a dream.

7 “Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household; 8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, Even openly, and not in dark sayings, And he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant, against Moses?”

So the anger of the Lord burned against them and He departed. 10 But when the cloud had withdrawn from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white assnow. As Aaron turned toward Miriam, behold, she was leprous. 11 Then Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, I beg you, do not account this sin to us, in which we have acted foolishly and in which we have sinned. 12 “Oh, do not let her be like one dead, whose flesh is half eaten away when he comes from his mother’s womb!” 13 And Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “O God, heal her, I pray!” 14 But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not bear her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up for seven days outside the camp, and afterward she may be received again.” 15 So Miriam was shut up outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until Miriam was received again.

Montanus ~ 150 AD

Hippolytus wrote of the Montanists, “They have been deceived by two females, Priscilla and Maximilla by name, whom they hold to be prophetesses, asserting that into them the Paraclete spirit entered…. They magnify these females above the Apostles and every gift of Grace, so that some of them go so far as to say that in them there is something more than Christ…. They introduce novelties in the form of fasts and feasts, abstinences and diets of radishes, giving these females as their authority.” (Cited in Henry BeKenson, ea., Documents of the Christian Church (London: Oxford, 1963), 77.) (Charismatic Chaos, John F. MacArthur, 1991, p. 73)

Shakers [Mother Ann Lee] ~ 1700’s

Another group that practiced a form of tongues was the Shakers, an American sect with Quaker roots that flourished in the mid-1700s. Mother Ann Lee, founder of the sect, regarded herself as the female equivalent of Jesus Christ. She claimed to be able to speak in seventy-two languages. The Shakers believed sexual intercourse was sinful, even within marriage. They spoke in tongues while dancing and singing in a trance-like state. (Charismatic Chaos, John F. MacArthur, 1991, p. 234)
“On an August day in 1837 a class of young girls, ten to fourteen years old, was meeting for instruction at the Gathering Order in Niskeyuna. Suddenly some of them began to shake and whirl. In the evening, after they had retired, the senses of three of the children appeared withdrawn from the scenes of time, and absorbed as in a trance. They began to sing, talk about angels, and describe a journey they were making, under spiritual guidance, to heavenly places.” (The People Called the Shakers, Edward Deming Andrews, p 152)

Seventh-day Adventists [Ellen White]

Ellen White founded the Seventh-day Adventist church and members must vow to believe that she was a prophet! From the 27 Fundamental beliefs, #17 “The gift of Prophecy: One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. As the Lord’s messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction.” Seventh-day Adventists refuted website

Christian Scientist [Mary Eddy] ~ 1941

Mrs. Eddy wrote, “I should blush to write of ‘Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures’ as I have, were it of human origin, and were I, apart from God, its author. But, as I was only a scribe echoing the harmonies of heaven in divine metaphysics, I cannot be super modest in my estimate of the Christian Science textbook.” (Mary Baker Eddy, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany (Boston: First Church of Christ, Scientist, 1941), 115.) Although the errors of Christian Science regarding God, Christ, and the Scriptures are well documented in numerous books, Mrs. Eddy was convinced she was used by God to reveal his truth for her day. (Charismatic Chaos, John F. MacArthur, 1991, p. 80)

Mrs. Cardale and her sister Emily ~ 1831

She was a member of Edward Irving’s congregation in England and on April 30, 1831 she began to speak in other tongues and prophesy. Irving was impressed and did not exercise any restraint towards this member’s activity. Soon Mrs. Cardale’s sister Emily also began to speak in tongues and prophesy, and others followed them. The end result was that Rev. Irving was eventually excommunicated from the Presbyterian Church and he formed his own organization. He was defrocked not so much for the charismatic extremism but for his heterodox view of the nature of Christ, his Christology was aberrant. Irving’s organization later began to promote to concept of restored prophets and apostles. Irving also believed that tongues and prophecy had divine origin and were truly revelatory in nature. As with Montanus (Montanism heresy , the role of the two women prophetesses became pronounced and set a pattern destined to be repeated over the coming years.

Agnes Ozman beginning of modern Pentecostalism ~ 1901

The modern Pentecostal movement began on January 1, 1901, in Bethel Bible College in Topeka, Kansas, operated by Charles Parham, a minister with a background in the Holiness movement. The students began to seek the baptism of the Spirit with tongues, and Agnes Ozman was the first student to experience speaking in tongues. She claimed she spoke in several languages immediately. She is the first woman in North America to speak in tongues!

Woodworth-Etter, Maria ~ (1844-1924)

She was one of the more mystical of all the neo-Montanist women. She was a traveling evangelist, one of the first women to take this role in America and was initially part of the holiness-healing movement. In the 1880’s she was known to go into trances and stand stock-still for hours and sometimes days. During these trance times people would come into her meetings and be miraculously healed or converted. In 1890 she reports people receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit as evidenced with the speaking in other tongues and people seeing heavenly visions. “The Holy Ghost was present in great power, with gifts, signs, and visions, following the laying-on-of-hands. There were visible signs of light and glory on the pulpit, and through the congregation seen by the natural eye by some” (Signs & Wonders, Harrison House, pg. 150-151). Sister Woodworth-Etter is possibly the source for many of the aberrant doctrines taken up by the New Order of the Latter Rain in the late 1940’s. She practiced the laying on of hands for healing (which is Biblical), delivering people from demons, and conveying spiritual gifts. Tremendous healing’s allegedly took place in her meetings, including the raising of the dead on certain occasions. Sister Etter started twelve churches, ordained twelve ministers to pastor these churches. In 1918 she built the Woodworth-Etter Tabernacle (humble huh?) in Indianapolis in which she served as pastor until her death. She must be counted as the “mother” of today’s Signs & Wonders Movement.

Foursquare Gospel Church [Aimee Semple McPherson] ~ 1920’s – 1930’s

Nationally known healing evangelist in the 1920’s – 1930’s. Founded and headed the Foursquare Gospel Church, led a controversial life and died of a drug overdose in 1944.

Kathryn Kuhlman

Kathryn Kuhlman was ordained a Baptist minister, but did not associate her ministry with any denomination She was heavily influenced by the Azusa street revival, and by the Roman Catholic church. She was well known for the manifestations that occurred at her meetings, including “laughter”. She is said to be responsible for the introduction of the manifestation of “Slain in the Spirit”. There were some differences to the current movement, though, in that she insisted that her meetings be orderly. Manifestations interrupting the service were not permitted. She was highly regarded in many Christian circles, and strongly influenced Benny Hinn and John Arnott.

Pensacola/Brownsville blessing ~ 1995-2000

The testimonies of the two young girls at Pensacola mark a major shift in that revival.

Hank Hanegraaff, author of the book Counterfeit Revival, criticized the revival for “serious distortions of biblical Christianity” in the meetings, comparing the physical manifestations to pagan practices.[15] Kilpatrick responded by issuing a prophecy aimed at Hanegraaff, claiming “within 90 days the Holy Ghost will bring you down.” This prophecy proved to be false.[16]

  1. Why is there always a fight,a putdown of women in ministry? There has always been women in ministry being used by God for centuries. Why is it that man, mankind have to usurp his authority over God? The gospel is the gospel whether from a man or a woman. What is it when man cannot see beyond gender when it comes to preaching the gospel? Why do we get hung up in these petty childish fights over petty things? I am so vehemently outdone with this argument against women that they are not suppose to preach, not suppose to be a pastor and so on and on. Oh my God what is wrong with us?! What about sin in the church etc.? Our focus is on nonconsequential things that do not amount to a hill of beans on a forty acre farm. God help us out of our iddiosyncrasies and our ignorance of His word. Help us oh God to stop the childs’ play and focus on your will. Stop this foolishness before it is too late. Till we all come into the unity of the faith of the son of God.

      You ask

Why is there always a fight,a putdown of women in ministry?

It is not a fight but rather people not knowing what the Bible teaches about this subject. Read the complete article and most importantly the Scripture given.

Also read the book of Jude and understand the judgment God will have on those who are teaching false doctrines like woman are aloud to usurp authority over men in the church, that is a total lie and miss conception.

We read in the book of Jude : Jude 1:3-4 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. (4) For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you,…. The apostle calls the persons he writes unto “beloved”; as they were of God, and by him and other saints; and he signifies his diligence in writing to them: and the subject of his writing was,

of the common salvation; which designs either the Gospel, sometimes called salvation, in opposition to the law, which is a ministration of condemnation; and because it is a declaration of salvation, and a means of it; and may be said to be “common”, because preached to all, Jews and Gentiles: or Jesus Christ the Saviour himself, who is also sometimes called “salvation”, because he was called and appointed to it, and undertook it, and is become the author of it; and may be said to be a “common” Saviour, not of all men, but of all his people; of his whole body, the church, and every member of it, and of all sorts of men, in all nations: or else that spiritual and eternal salvation wrought out by him, which is common, not to all men, for all are not saved with it, but to all the elect of God, and true believers in Christ; the love of God is common to them all alike; the choice of them to eternal salvation is the same; the covenant of grace, the blessings and promises of it, are equally shared by them; and they are bought with the same price of Christ’s blood, and are justified by the same righteousness, and are regenerated, sanctified, and called by the same grace, and shall possess the same glory: there is but one way of salvation, and that is not confined to any nation, family, community, or sect among men. The Alexandrian copy and two of Beza’s, and the Syriac version, read, “our common salvation”; and two other of Beza’s copies and the Vulgate Latin version read, “your common salvation”; the sense is the same: it was

needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you, that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints; by the “faith” is meant the doctrine of faith, in which sense it is used whenever faith is said to be preached, obeyed, departed, or erred from, or denied, or made shipwreck of, or when exhortations are made to stand fast, and continue in it, or to strive and contend for it, as here; and which is sometimes called the word of faith, the faith of the Gospel, the mystery of faith, or most holy faith, the common faith, and, as here, faith only; and designs the whole scheme of evangelical truths to be believed; such as the doctrine of the Trinity, the deity and sonship of Christ, the divinity and personality of the Spirit; what regards the state and condition of man by nature, as the doctrines of the imputation of Adam’s sin to his posterity, the corruption of nature, and the impotence of men to that which is good; what concerns the acts of grace in the Father, Son, and Spirit, towards, and upon the sons of men; as the doctrines of everlasting love, eternal election, the covenant of grace, particular redemption, justification by the imputed righteousness of Christ, pardon and reconciliation by his blood, regeneration and sanctification by the grace of the Spirit, final perseverance, the resurrection of the dead, and the future glory of the saints with Christ. This is said to be “delivered to the saints”: it was delivered by God the Father to Christ as Mediator, and by him to his apostles, who may more especially be meant by “the saints”, or holy men; who were chosen to be holy, and to whom Christ was made sanctification, and who were sanctified by the Spirit of God; and this faith, being a most holy faith, is fit for holy men, and only proper to be delivered to them, and preached by them; and by them it was delivered to the churches, both by word and writing; and this delivery of it supposes that it is not an invention of men, that it is of God, and a gift of his, and given in trust in order to be kept, held forth, and held fast; and it was but “once” delivered, in opposition to the sundry times and divers manners in which the mind of God was formerly made known; and designs the uniformity, perfection, and continuance of the doctrine of faith; there is no alteration to be made in it, or addition to it; no new revelations are to be expected, it has been delivered all at once: and therefore should be “earnestly contended for”; for could it be lost, another could not be had; and the whole of it is to be contended for; not only the fundamentals, but the lesser matters of faith; and not things essential only, but also what are circumstantial to faith and religion; every truth, ordinance, and duty, and particularly the purity of faith, and its consistency: and this contention includes a care and solicitude for it, to have it, own it, and hold it fast, and adorn it; and for the preservation of it, and for the spread of it, and that it might be transmitted to posterity: and it denotes a conflict, a combat, or a fighting for it, a striving even to an agony: the persons to be contended with on account of it, are such who deny, or depreciate any of the Persons in the Godhead, the assertors of the purity and power of human nature, and the deniers of sovereign, efficacious, and persevering grace: the persons who are to contend with them are all the saints in general, to whom it is delivered; which they may do by bearing an experimental testimony to it, by praying for the continuance and success of it, by standing fast in one spirit in it, and by dying for it; and particularly the ministers of the Gospel, by preaching it boldly, openly, fully, and faithfully, by disputing for it, and writing in the defence of it, and by laying down their lives, when called for: the manner in which this is to be done, is “earnestly”, heartily, in good earnest, and without deceit, zealously, and constantly.

  2. I agree that female ministry contrary to the plain sense of I Corinthians 14 and I Timothy 2 is to be condemned. But portraying Pentecostalism as something invented by women preachers is a big stretch.

Thank you for your comment. If we go into the history books, it tells that indeed it was so, that these false movements where started up by some women. But I guess each has to do their homework and make sure it comes from a good source.

    • This article does not state that Pentecostalism was invented by women preachers , rather that, due to the deceived nature of modern Charismatic Pentecostalism, it has been at the forefront of advancing the practice of promoting women to usurp authority over the church. The examples given of this practice in the article clearly illustrates that point.

  3. So what happens when men ignore right rebuke by women and instead ATTACK such women who actually handle the Scriptures accurately? (cough cough Brannon Howse / Chris Pinto attacking Christine Pack?

I was made aware of the charade going on. I spent 15 min of my precious time looking at it as it is not worth a dime to even give attention, the way I see it. However, I will share my thoughts with you. Mrs Pack is way out of her place as a woman according to the teachings of Scripture. I have seen a couple of statements from her that shocked me, as for Howse and Pinto, well they should have known better as men than to try and defend themselves against a woman. Do we see any of this sort of thing happening in the Bible ? I fail to see that the charade was handled Biblically on all sides. I think Mrs Pack should go back to see if she handled Scriptures accurately in this matter to try and justify herself. What is it that we are to discern as the Bible teaches ? it is simply to use the Book of God , and measure what is taught, and to discern the persons handling and teaching of the Word and measure it against Scripture. Pinto in this case, uses material from a man that could be dubious in a documentary of his that seems questionable and allows the man to comment on his wall.

The Bible is clear we are to discern teachings and this is certainly not about that. It is about personal agendas from all sides and people who are trying to justify themselves.

You ask what happens when men ignore right rebuke and instead attack such women ? What did she expect ? She took on the persons and not what they teach as it is not about a teaching here, but a documentary and whom starred in it, and what was said to each other and about each other in the virtual social media world and on Facebook.

These are the kind of petty arguments we as believers should ignore. Mrs Pack thinks she is defending her position, and so is Pinto and Howse. I fail to find it in the Bible where God’s Word says we are to defend ourselves as believers.

All of them need to go back to the Bible read it an learn what the Bible actually teaches what discernment. They should all repent and turn from their wicked ways……

Titus 3:9 KJV But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions,…………

We are to look unto Jesus Christ our only hope in a lost and dying world.

Ephesians 4:11-15 KJV And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The shenanigans taking place between Mrs Pack , Pinto and Howse debacle, certainly does not do any of the above, and in particular does not edify the body of Christ. Furthermore it is clear these people are allowing themselves to be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine rather than resting in Christ they make a spectacle of themselves. For a moment I thought we where all back in preschool.
