WHAT IS THE SEMINAR ABOUT?
Peter warned his readers and indeed us today that “false teachers will be among you who will secretly introduce destructive heresies” and they “will make merchandise out of you” (2 Pet 2:1-3). Many of today’s false teachers can be found in what is known as the Word-Faith movement, more commonly referred to as the Health and Wealth, or, Prosperity Gospel. Popular American prosperity preachers such as Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes, and Joel Osteen are attempting to redefine biblical Christianity by teaching dangerous doctrines designed to distort the Gospel and to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor, the desperate, the sick, and the widows. These false teachers have provided a model for many African preachers to follow and they too are leading many astray. Can we really speak things into existence? Did Jesus die spiritually? Are we little gods? Should all Christians speak in tongues? Should people be slain in the Spirit? Is it always God’s will to be healed? If a person is not healed is it because of a lack of faith? Do signs and wonders authenticate the Gospel? What is the true Gospel? You are invited to attend a seminar entitled A Call for Discernment led by Justin Peters as he explores all these questions and many more from a purely biblical perspective. A Call for Discernment will have dozens of video clips of today’s prominent prosperity preachers and then the Word of God will be dropped alongside their claims and teachings. WHY THIS SEMINAR?
Over and above the reasons per the paragraph above, the following verses show why this seminar is so necessary: Believers need to imitate the noble Bereans in Acts 17:11 who „searched the Scriptures daily to find out if these things (taught by Paul) were so.‟ In our case, evaluating the things taught by the Word of Faith teachers. The command in Scripture: Tit 1:10-11 For there are many ….. idle talkers and deceivers, … 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.‟ The example of Paul in Acts 20:29-31 where he warned the church elders against false teachers (‘savage wolves‟) coming into the church „speaking perverse things to draw away disciples.’ Paul’s warning in 2 Cor 11:4-5 regarding false teachers who „preaches another Jesus…or a different gospel.‟ Another warning in 2 Tim 4:3-4 „For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…. turning their ears away from the truth and turned aside to fables.‟ The earnest plea in Jude 3-4 „…contend earnestly for the faith… For certain men crept in unnoticed…ungodly men, who deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.‟ To guard the unity of the church: Rom 16:17-18 “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.”

For the Love of His Truth 
Justin Peters does an excellent job exposing false teaching and telling the truth according to the Scriptures. We have had him at our church a few times. This video clip was shot at our church. I am so excited he is coming to South Africa. We having a family that came to hear him from a local Word of Faith church, they believed what he said, repented and left that church. Their entire family now comes to our church, their adult children as well. Glory to God! He is faithful to those who are His, and He will deliver them from error and false teaching by hearing His Word preached!

Thank you for your comment. I have the video too and did recognise it was taken there. It was also the 1st discernment media we came into contact with when we where in the WOF church here 4 years ago. Praise the Lord for opening the eyes of the family at your church. It reminds me of the Words of our Lord Jesus : Luk 15:3-7 So he told them this parable: (4) “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? (5) And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. (6) And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ (7) Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Indeed as you say “He will deliver them from error and false teaching by hearing His Word preached ! ” Amen !
We are soo looking forward to meeting Justin and it will be the very 1st seminar on the program and it is very close to where we live !!!

Are you saying we are not to test to see if it is from God ? 1John _4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. We are to adhere to the word of God as believers.
Are you saying we are not to discern true from false ? It is a sin to be undiscerning. Romans 1:26-32 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,[c] wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving,[d] unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Agreed William. Why do people nit-pick when there is a dying world out there? Who is judging who now? God Himself will deal with those who do not speak the truth.

Justin Peters are dealing with professing believers not non believers. Unless you support some of the names called out, you will then agree with William erroneously.
God will deal with those outside the church the unbelievers, you see we are to judge/discern those inside the church, it is what Scripture says. 1Co 5:12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 1Co 5:13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” Further we are to test absolutely everything !!! 1Jn_4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. There is also a Biblical way in which we should judge according to Scripture.We are NOT to Judge a person’s MOTIVES (Matt 7:1), but we ARE to Judge a Fellow Christian’s: FRUIT / ACTIONS (Matt 7:15-20,John 7:24,1 Cor 5:12–13) to make sure they’re NOT Teaching & Living Contrary to God’s Word, and Essential Christian Doctrine is Correct. Apostle Paul judged 8 Times,& Named the Names of 8 False Converts in 2nd Timothy.

But I do listen to Joyce Meyer and she is very Inspirational to me, I just got myself the Power Thoughts and have been busy with it for a month or so, it did make me very positive and I feel so much better since I am actually saying talking to myself positively. It feels to me and I could be wrong that you are breaking people off allot in your Sessions, would that not be seen as judgmental? To me it seems that you certainly have some bitterness towards Benny Henn, I could be wrong sorry if I am.

According to YOU this verse is not not doctoral or theology… and your reason is that it was a letter that Jonh was writing to his friend and then you said it was like this, Dear G, I hope this letter finds you well? Where does it state that we should not read all scripture in the Bible as it has been inspired by God as in 2 Timothy 3:16
I have never ever heard such thing as the verse is not Doctoral or theology and that John was just writijng his friend a letter..
I will appreciate if you can quote your verse to confirm your statement regarding your above statement.

There is much to be said about the unbiblical ministry of Joyce Meyer. For starters she is a woman teacher/pastor. That in itself is not biblical. I suggest you read our articles on the blog about this. You can just google Joyce Meyer false teacher/prophet and 1000’s of pages comes up,
